Wednesday, October 1 - Part 3 The Plumbing Begins

This is how you start the plumbing....cut some holes in the floor. This is the master bath, so the round hole is for the toilet and the rectangular is for my shower.

Today they also put in the beginnings of the tubing for the sun tunnels.

This white piping is the drain for the washer and the sink in the laundry room.

This is where the drain pipes from the guest bath come down to meet the drain pipes in Amy's bathroom.

Friday, October 3 - More Plumbing

This is the plumbing up in the ceiling....I have no clue what it is doing up there, but Dennis is very happy with it.

Week 10 - September 22

Yes, I have fallen behind again....mostly overwhelmed by the number of photos we have taken and frustrated by the snail pace of this computer. However....I have finally found the problem (not enough RAM) and will be correcting it early next week. Meanwhile here is an update....

The beginnings of the roof....

Here's how they work....Tom measures (he's on the right, on the roof with all the black tool things hanging off of his waist). Jerry cuts (he's on the ground with the pile of woood). TJ carries and places the wood (he's on the left laying down the next board). And Jimmy nails (he's in the center). I didn't ask them to turn around and smile.....sorry.....

All done for the day.....

Today the guys began to put in the 4 suntunnels.

We will have two of them in the kitchen....

And one in each of the bathrooms.

The wood went on the front of the garage today. Bet you can see the windows now!

Jerry runs all of the equipment, he was busy today pushing the dirt up to the front of the house.

This side of the house if filling up too....but it will still have more to go....

Week 9 - September 15 - Part 1

SPECIAL NOTE: I noticed the last time that I blogged an entire week, you had to read it from the end and work your way to the beginning in order for it to make sense. So...I have blogged this week backwards and thus the beginning is at the beginning instead of at the end. Does that make sense? Besides, I am now caught up with the current day...so if I blog every day, I won't have any problems.....right?

September 15th & 16th, 2008

On Monday, the 15th, the crew took over the street.

You can see the roof trusses they are putting together

On Tuesday, the 16th, they had to wait for the crane to arrive and put the trusses on top of the house. So....they put in the hole for the stairwell to the basement.

They framed out the double closet in the master bedroom (a summer and winter closet for me, Yay!!!!)

This shows the framing for the entry from the mudroom and garage into the laundry room and then into Den's walk-in closet. In the background is the large sliding door to the deck from our bedroom.
